OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our philosophy is simple;  to give students of all ages and skill levels a creative, fun, and disciplined approach to learning the many joys of playing a musical instrument.  Our students develop self-discipline and confidence through structured practice sessions, weekly lessons, and performances. We strive to provide our students with a lifelong appreciation for music, an outlet for their creativity, and a powerful new form of self-expression.

Founders Brandy and Marc Hutchinson believe that everyone can learn to play an instrument well with the right guidance, and that music education provides the learner with the opportunity to grow
physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. 

PRACTICE

Students should practice 5-6 days a week.  For the beginning student 20-30 minutes a day will be sufficient.  All other students are encouraged to practice 30-60 minutes a day.  In order to have a productive practice session please set aside a specific time each day for the student to practice, distraction free.  A student who comes prepared to each lesson makes our time together much more enjoyable.

Parents who have had little or no music education themselves may find it hard to help their child at home.  Your greatest responsibility in the development of your young musician is to give praise and encouragement.  Make sure that lessons are not the only source of music for your child.  Listen to CD’s at home or in the car.  Go to concerts.  Expose your child to a variety of music.  Ask your child about his or her assignments.  And always feel free to call us anytime with questions or concerns.

 

MISSED LESSONS

You must notify us 24 hours in advance if the student cannot make it to a lesson.  If advance notice is given, you may reschedule or take a credit.  Otherwise, the lesson will be lost and payment non-refundable.   

 

RECITALS

The fee for each recital is $15 due at the beginning of each recital month.  Please mark your calendars.  The opportunity to perform in front of parents and peers promotes the life-long skills of confidence and stage presence.     

 

TUITION

Payment must be received by the first day of each session.  Checks or cash are acceptable methods of payment.  Please make check out to Lair Hill Music.

 

30-minute private lessons……….…...$90 per 4-week session

45-minute private lessons……….…...$130 per 4-week session

60-minute private lessons…………....$160 per 4-week session

30-minute group class.....................$20 per 2-week session (must be taking private lessons)
